Helicon provides immediate support with expert advice and practical solutions that limit damage and enable sustainable recovery.

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

    Preventing, detecting, and sustainably managing biological risks. Pests and mould pose a risk to your collection. Serious damage is prevented through monitoring (for example, airborne germ counts or performing a biological test), risk assessment, and the implementation of sustainable measures; without the use of chemicals. Helicon adheres to the principle: prevention is better than a cure.

  • Climate management

    Climate control, control over preservation. Continuous and intelligent monitoring of temperature, humidity, and environmental factors that influence the condition of heritage objects helps manage the risk of damage. Using climate simulations, but also sensor-based climate measurements, data analysis, and risk-driven interpretation, Helicon provides insight, stability, and prevention—ensuring safe and sustainable preservation of collections.

  • Depot development

    Sustainable preservation, smart management, future-proof development. Helicon designs, builds, and furnishes sustainable, risk-managed storage spaces for heritage collections. With smart (climate) zoning based on the KEEP!-concept and passive solutions like the PauseBox®, Helicon offers safe, efficient, and high-quality storage that complies with the Dutch Museum Standards, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNA) regulations, and the Archives Act.

  • Education

  • Object and room cleaning

    Cleaning with respect for heritage. The careful and safe removal of dust, dirt, and biological contamination from heritage objects and their surroundings contributes to the preservation of the object and its historical value. By using the right equipment and techniques, combined with knowledge of material properties, Helicon contributes to the preservation of heritage collections.

  • Archive processing

    Structure, preservation, and accessibility in a single approach. Performing biological tests of both the archive and the depot, as well as the sustainable organisation, description, packaging, and accessibility of archival materials in accordance with archival legislation and heritage standards. Helicon ensures that archives remain securely stored and easily accessible for future consultation.
